Full Definition
A RelatePoint is a primary starting point or place for coordinating relationships in the proximity. The symbol (r] stands for a RelatePoint. It is part of our Growth Model, which people can adopt (see below). When you see the (r] symbol, you know that information for relating to someone or something can be found. It can be information about relating to an individual, group, organization, entity or other proximity. RelatePoints provide options for communication, a key to productive and enjoyable relationships. Relating in ways such as communicating, cooperating, collaborating, joining, rewarding, etc. The symbol (r] also evokes relationship, Vadi Agreements and the Growth Model.
Adaptability
On a website, a RelatePoint can be a page or set of pages. However, the concept can adapt to a variety of situations. A RelatePoint can be any place or way of coordinating relationships. At a convention, seminar or meeting, it might be a table and a sign. A phone is a RelatePoint. For groups who meet on a regular basis, their meeting place is a RelatePoint. An internet chat interface is a RelatePoint. A retail store is a RelatePoint.
Combining RelatePoints and ProxMonitors
Sometimes, RelatePoints and ProxMonitors are combined. For example, with people, our bodies are often both. We coordinate our relationships through speech, expressions and body language, while at the same time monitoring feedback, status, and progress through our sensory organs (eyes, ears, nose). You can also see how RelatePoints and ProxMonitors are combined as an ability to relate, when considering ProxGrowth and the Growth Model.
Versatility
The information at a RelatePoint can help people gain greater ProxAwareness, and help them better relate elements, relationships, and the proximity. The symbol (r] is very compact, so it can appear many different places. For example, it can be a link on a website, a mark on a creative work, or an iconic graphic on a sign. It can be created by anyone with a keyboard. It is also easily created with a pen, pencil, brush, etc.
Evoking Relationship
The symbol (r] for a RelatePoint, and often the Growth Model, uses a left parenthesis and a right bracket around the letter "r." The "r" can stand for relate, relationship, and reward. The "r" is situated between two different elements, the "(" and "]", which can be read as objects, ideas, feelings, people, etc. Since the "r" is between two different elements, it can evoke the existence of, need for, and opportunity for relationships. It can say "look here" for relationship. Also, the parenthesis "(" and bracket "]" form a kind of boundary, and hency evoke the proximity.
Evoking the Growth Model
Also, since the elements "(" and "]" on either side of the "r" are different, the RelatePoint symbol can refer to Vadi Agreements and the ProxThink Growth Model itself.
A Shorter Word
As people get comfortable with the RelatePoint concept, it will be convenient use a shorter word for it. We are considering RelaPoint as short for RelatePoint.
A New Standard
This could become a new standard. We have a need for an icon like this. We have a need for ways to refer to and trigger relationships that are flexible, renewable, sustainable, pluralistic and multifaceted.
Adopt Them and Reward
We invite you to adopt the related standards in the Growth Model, of which the RelatePoint (r] is a part. If you do, we ask you to ProxReward us as a part of our IP Deal, for pioneering the standards. For more, see Adopt (r]. Thank you.
